Our Pandemic “Pivot” to Video
It’s no surprise the COVID-19 Pandemic affected small business in big ways. SSPL was no exception. It quickly became clear that we’d have to “pivot” our workflow to adapt to the new realities of 2020-21. You can review our COVID-19 Safety Information page here.
We carefully followed the advice of Public Health officials to minimize risks to our employees and our clients. We alternated days in the office and worked from home more than ever before. We developed this new website to show clients (new and old) that we’re still here and in fact we’re now busier than ever before. And, most significantly, we replaced face-to-face client meetings with videoconferences.
Land-Use Planning and technology go hand-in-hand and SSPL has always been at the forefront of adopting innovative new ideas. Videoconferencing is now deeply integrated into all our client relationships. “Zoom” and similar apps allow us to introduce ourselves to clients, determine the requirements and parameters of each project, discuss our ideas, submit quotes, and ultimately deliver your completed Planning reports — all done to the same high standards as if we met in person.
It’s important to note that videoconferencing also allows us to accept projects anywhere in Ontario — even if the worksite is a thousand kilometres away. Now the entire province is just around the corner!
At SSPL we’re very pleased that our pandemic “pivot” to videoconferencing makes us more accessible while saving our clients time, travel, mileage, and ultimately money.
We look forward to the day when we can safely meet in person again, but until then — we’re always available online. To set-up an initial video meeting (or old-fashioned teleconference) please contact us here.
