Land Use Planning for Rural Ontario.

We have an unsurpassed knowledge of the zoning by-laws and Official Plans in force in Chatham-Kent and Lakeshore, having written more than 2,500 Planning reports for the Municipality of Chatham-Kent since its amalgamation in 1998 and several hundred Planning reports for the Town of Lakeshore since 2005.

SSPL has produced and continues to develop leading-edge policies and studies for rural Ontario, such as the Ridge Landfill expansion, Erie Shore Drive shoreline study, new agricultural consent policies, nutrient management study and policies, greenhouse policies/zoning by-law, new Minimum Distance Separation (MDS) regulations, and most recently wind farm and other renewable energy policies and reports.

We were very proud to have been recognized as a “Friend of Agriculture” at the 70th Annual Rural-Urban Awards Dinner in 2016. As the presenter noted, most major rural Land-Use Planning decisions in the last thirty years have come across our desks.

A giant greenhouse? A new implement shed? A bunkhouse for seasonal workers? No matter what you’re building or where you’re building it, SSPL has the knowledge and expertise to get your shovels in the ground sooner.
